Diazepam

Diazepam is a medication used for the treatment of anxiety, muscle spasms, and seizures. It belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines that slow the brain and the nerves.

Its off-label use treats alcohol withdrawal symptoms and sleep disorders. This medicine helps relax muscles, lessen anxiety, and control seizure symptoms by enhancing the effect of the natural brain chemical GABA.

The effects of this medicine start within 30 to 60 minutes and can last for several hours.

Common side effects of diazepam include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, and confusion. The drug has been found to cause dependence if used for a long duration. 

Valium

Valium is typically prescribed to treat conditions such as muscle spasms, anxiety disorders, and symptoms associated with alcohol withdrawal. In some cases, it may be combined with other medications to manage seizures and muscle stiffness. This medication functions by calming the nerves and affecting the brain’s activity. Valium falls into the category of drugs known as benzodiazepines.
